"Remember The Alamo" is an iconic phrase held dear to every Texan's heart and known to people around the world. It was our privilege to design a unique tribute to the San Antonio shrine for the 2017 Texas Furniture Makers Show. Our table, "Texas Bowie", was featured in the front of the main gallery and marked our third consecutive winning year at the annual contest.
The juried exhibition is a statewide competition featuring handcrafted pieces and is sponsored by the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center in Kerrville, Texas. Only 50 to 60 pieces are chosen for exhibition each year from numerous entries. The purpose of the show is to present the work of Texas Furniture Makers to the public in a formal gallery setting and bring national attention to their one-of-a-kind handmade works of art.
This year’s expert panel of judges included Ron Goldman (founder and publisher of "Woodworker West" magazine), Louis Fry (acclaimed furniture designer/maker) and Tim Snyder (editor-in-chief of "Woodcraft Magazine").
