We paired a beautiful slice of Australian Red Gum Burl with a cast iron industrial machinery base that we discovered on a trip to Pennsylvania.
This rare specimen of exotic wood has been sealed with a hand rubbed European hardwax oil finish and buffed to a satin sheen. The vintage base has elegantly flared feet providing a sturdy stance to which we added non-marring levelers. We carefully preserved the original red patina with several coats of clear lacquer.
